About myDRIVESCHOOL®

myDRIVESCHOOL® is an AI-backed simulation program that uses a steering wheel and pedal set to help people practise key driving skills before getting into a real car. The program helps users learn about traffic, road rules, car control, road signs, intersections and different driving situations. It also covers the impact of fatigue, impairment, speeding and distractions.

The program is designed to provide a safe way to develop early driving awareness, particularly for people who may feel nervous, unsure or inexperienced before starting practical driving lessons.

What the Program Includes

Participants may have the opportunity to practise and learn about:

  • Basic steering and acceleration
  • Road signs and intersections
  • Lane changes and indicating
  • Managing speed limits
  • Emergency braking
  • Different road surfaces
  • Hazard perception
  • Distraction management
  • Fatigue and impairment awareness
  • Free Drive simulation activities

Who is it for?

This opportunity is available to eligible Sign For Work participants who are interested in building their confidence, independence and road safety knowledge.

It may be suitable for participants who:

  • Are preparing to become a learner driver
  • Want to understand road rules and traffic situations
  • Feel anxious about getting into a car for the first time
  • Would benefit from practising in a safe simulated environment
  • Are working towards greater independence for study, work or community participation

License Level Support

For participants preparing for their Learner Permit, myDRIVESCHOOL can help build early road safety knowledge before getting behind the wheel. It gives users a safe way to practise recognising signs, understanding traffic conditions, responding to hazards and becoming familiar with common driving situations.

This can be helpful for participants who are new to driving, feeling nervous about starting, or wanting to build confidence before practical lessons.

For drivers on their Red Ps, the program can support safer decision-making during the early stages of independent driving. It gives participants the opportunity to practise situations such as managing speed, changing lanes, identifying hazards and responding to other road users in a controlled online environment.

This can help reinforce safe driving habits while participants are gaining real-world experience.

For Green P drivers, myDRIVESCHOOL can help strengthen confidence and road awareness as they continue developing independence on the road. Participants can use the program to refresh key skills, practise more complex driving situations and continue building safe driving behaviours.

This level is useful for drivers who want to feel more prepared, capable and aware as they move towards their full licence.
